OFSDS participated in stae level Adivasi Mela – 2022-23
The Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society (OFSDS) participated in the State Level “Adivasi Mela” organized by Academy of Tribal Language & Culture (ATLC) under ST & SC Development, Minority and Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Odisha from 20th February 2023 to 1st March 2023. The fair was organised at the State Adivasi Ground, Bhubaneswar for 10 days. This Adivasi Mela 2022-23 had witnessed the participation of all tribal intensive VSSs from OFSDP-II and AJY with diversified range of products. Different varieties of products starting from NTFP products, food products, grocery items, handicrafts, textile items etc. were exhibited in stall for sale.
Seven Territorial Forest Divisions of OFSDP-II and Four Territorial Forest Divisions of AJY had participated in the Fair. These Divisions were represented by 22 SHG members who sold their products to the urban customers. Under the aegis of Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society, these SHG members made promising business in the Adivasi Mela 2022-23. These forest fringe dwelling community members were able to sell record number of products in this Mela and the overall sale was very encouraging for the participants and all stakeholders. The SHGs made business turnover of about Rs 11.6 lakhs at the Mela in 10 days.
