Self help groups under operationalisation of AJY, OFSDP-I and OFSDP-II had participated in the state level annual ADIVASI MELA - 2019
The Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society (OFSDS) facilitated participated of Self Help Groups (SHGs), constituted under AJY, OFSDP-I and OFSDP-II, in the State Level Annual Adivasi Mela - 2019 organized by ST, SC Development, Minority and Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of Odisha from 26th January to 9th February 2019 at IDCO Exihibition Grounds, Bhubaneswar. The 15 day exhibition-cum-sale stall of products of constituent SHGs in the Adivasi Mela was inaugurated by Shri L.K.Tewari, IFS, PCCF (Projects)-cum-Project Director of Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society. He interacted with the SHGs and VSS members and encouraged them to utilise this exhibition platform as an opportunity to augment their livelihood options by saling forest products and agri produces. As many as 48 SHGs operatinalised under Ama Jangala Yojana, OFSDP-II, and Partnership Ecosystem of OFSDP-I participated in the fortnightly Annual Adivasi Mela – 2019. Total 169 members of these SHGs under 18 various Divisional Management Units of OFSDS took part in the Mela in three batches. Public from all sections of the society visited the OFSDS stall and appreciated the variety and qualities of the products sold by the OFSDS SHGs in different categoris like Agri Produces, Grocery Products, Natural and Forest Products, Handicrafts etc. The forest fringe community groups sold a record number of products this tiem in Mela and the overall sale of products rose to more than Rs. 11 Lakh crossed all previous sale records by SHGs of OFSDS.
