JICA Appraisal Mission of for Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project (OFSDP) Phase-II held discussion with the Project Director and senior officials from PMU, Odisha from 9th to 16th January, 2017. The members included Mr.Seiya Okawara, Country Officer, South Asia Department, Division-1 of JICA and Ms. Chikako Maruyama. The meeting was first at New Delhi on 09th and subsequently at Kolkata on the side lines of the JICA National Workshop on 11th to 13th January, 2017. The project cost, implementation schedule, consulting services, fund management by proposed LRC within PMU, micro plan preparation at VSS level and convergence were discussed in detail. The total project cost was finalised at INR 1000.25 Crores with INR 848.634 crores as loan component and INR 151.617 crore as state share.
At Bhubaneswar, Mr. Seiya Okawara visited the Principal Secretary, Forest and Environment Department along with the Project Director OFSDP on 16.01.2017 and discussed the cost table worked out for the project with details of eligible and non eligible portion under the loan. Accordingly, the request was made before the Principal Secretary, Forest and Environment to ensure budget provision for the first year of implementation of the project during 2017-18 and to timely constitute the PMU for the project with all staff in position for implementation and also to take sufficient steps at Government level to ensure convergence with other departments.
